Hola soy Mónica. Me gusta conocer los lugares que visito, entender un poco más, el lugar y la gente. Entonces, espero mostrarte mi ciudad natal y seducirte para que vengas y regreses, porque es pequeña, pero tiene mucha historia y lugares hermosos para disfrutar. En este recorrido intentaré mostrarte los puntos principales de la ciudad: la plaza principal (Praça da Republica), la sinagoga, la iglesia de San Francisco de Sissi, el museo de la caja de fósforos, la iglesia de santa maría, la iglesia de st iria, e incluso los jardines (Mouchão y 7 hill garden)... y si te gusta mucho caminar, podemos subir juntos a otra iglesia (N. Srª da Piedade), e incluso caminar (o en coche) ir al acueducto de Pegões.
Highly recommend this excellent tour of Tomar with Monica. As a historian, she provided a lot of facts about Tomar’ s past. I did not know the Visigoths occupied this far east and south, but Monica showed us evidence of their conquest and occupation. We also saw and heard about the Roman and Moorish presence in Tomar. And of course the kKnights Templar from 12th through 16th centuries, their influence on a Portugal as a whole and their participation in even naval expeditions to India, etc. it was extre Interesting to hear how all this history is still present and influencing modern Portugal.
Monica was fabulous. Her knowledge and passion of the History of Tomar and all connected to it was amazing. We loved the tour. Monica went out of her way to take us to some fabulous places. I would highly recommend Monica as a tour guide. She was so friendly, helpful and keen to share her wonderful Town with us. Thank you Monica
We rearranged our travel plans to make it to Tomar in time for the tour and the guide never showed up. I messaged the tour guide and Guru platform directly. Guru platform wrote me back to tell me to message the tour guide, which I did again. Heard back from guide hours later saying she was never notified of the booking and there was a chronic problem with the platform notifying her of bookings. She did offer the give the tour the next day but unfortunately our time was taken.
Monica was very friendly and passionate about the places and history of Tomar. She answered questions, gave recommendations for restaurants and places to visit in my next stop and went out of her way to ensure we enjoyed the tour. If you are visiting Tomar I thoroughly recommend taking a walking tour with Monica!
Monica was great she went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best tour. She really was able to show us the best of Tomar and is definitely worth doing a tour with.
