It was interesting and informative - I enjoyed walking around the central market and seeing the El Portal bar. The guide constantly chatting up with people on the streets, repeatedly saying how people know him, became a bit too much and was uncomfortable.
Guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We visited 2 towns and 3 crafts/shops and churches, and rode the local buses "chicken buses" from Antigua to the small towns and back. Didn't feel pressured to buy so I enjoyed the experience of visiting and learning from the small local crafts/businesses in their small towns.
Our local guide was nice and patient, but was more repetitive than anything- primary just pointing out the architectural style of the buidings. Would have been nice if he provided more details, history and background story of the places we visited. Not sure if it's because of language fluency but despite it being an English speaking tour - I felt it lacks the quality of other guruwalks I've done both in language proficiency and content.
