I didn't get to take the tour, as the night before the tour the guide mentioned that others had canceled, I might try for Wednesday (it was his suggestion, but it is not possible for me), and then, even though this is advertised as a free tour (with the traveler deciding on the amount to give), I was asked if I would pay a specific amount of money. If you are willing to risk a late cancellation from the guide, you might try this tour, but I was left scrambling to find a different option.

Giovanni gives a truly great tour, and it's not just talking about the park/nature; it gets into the city of Medellín, the region, and beyond. I like tours that go longer than advertised, so for me it worked out that I didn't have anything planned after this tour, but I had read a review stating the amount of time the tour takes, and it was accurate. This is not just three hours; perhaps the three hours are from the time you enter the park to the time you leave. For those meeting at the scheduled time, there is quite a bit of transport involved, so do plan on dedicating a lot of your day to this experience.
