Exploring Little Havana with Alberto was honestly one of the best decisions we made in Miami. It was a perfectly paced two-hour walking tour, but it never felt like “just a walk.” Alberto, a proud Cuban himself, opened the doors to the heart of Cuban culture, stories of history, identity, resilience, and everyday life that went way beyond surface-level tourist facts. We wandered through vibrant streets filled with murals and music, watched Cuban cigars being hand-rolled right in front of us, felt the rhythm of salsa echoing through the neighborhood, and breathed in the smell of fresh pastries from local bakeries. And yes—the Cuban coffee and food along the way were absolutely incredible, with Alberto sharing his insider recommendations that made us feel like locals rather than visitors. This wasn’t just a tour; it felt like stepping into a living culture. We left with full hearts, full stomachs, and a deep appreciation for Little Havana and we’re already planning to go back just to relive the experience (and eat more, obviously).

Alberto was a great tour guide. Between sites, he tried to connect with each participant. We started the tour with trying a bit of Cuban coffee and pastries, which was unexpected but awesome!

Ce tour est une immersion parfaite dans la culture américaine cubaine. Notre guide, Alberto Melendez, nous a accueillis avec un grand sourire et une bonne vibe. Dès le début, il nous a fait goûter à la culture cubaine en nous offrant un shooter de café cubain et de délicieuses “Pastelita”. Ensuite, nous avons passé un bon deux heures à explorer la Calle Ocho, découvrant l’histoire des Cubains qui se sont établis dans ce quartier. Il nous a raconté plein d’histoire, d’anecdotes très intéressantes. Il nous a proposé des restaurants, boutiques, fabrique de cigares, musée, etc. Je vous conseille vivement de faire cette visite car Alberto est génial et hyper intéressant. Bonne visite à faire pour bien commencer votre visite de la petite Havana!!!

He also shared great local recommendations for authentic restaurants, unique shops, and the best places to buy cigars.
