Before the tour even started, Nadia sent me a private message to let me know how much money she was expecting to be paid ($10-$50 USD) for the FREE walking tour. She shared it under the guise that someone “asked” about her tour guide “fee” so she was letting me know the answer too. First: if this is a FREE walking tour, there is no fee. Second: I did not ask so her sharing it with me seemed like a shady way to let me know how much money she was expecting. Her attempt to manage an expectation of payment before even doing the job was a complete turn off for me. Her private message to me is quoted verbatim below: “…someone asked me how much is the tour guide's fee and i have informed them accordingly. So i would also like to share this information with you: Base on the guidelines in the Guruwalk platform, the range is between 10 Euros to 50 USD (RM50 to RM250) for each person depending on your satisfaction.”
