Alexis makes unsupported statements that are motivated by ideological opinions. For example, he stated that the Allies, and especially the US, strategy post WW II was motivated by controlling international production of oil. I don't believe this can be substantiated or supported by facts. He also stated that the German chancellor post WW II was a puppet of the US. I don't think there is any evidence to substantiate this opinion either. Finally, and the last straw, Alexis drew a parallel between the Berlin Wall and the partially constructed wall between the US and Mexico. When I pointed out that one was intended to keep citizens in and the other to keep foreign immigrants out and that these functions are very different, he did not agree with me that these are not comparable. I was so disturbed by the presentation of the tour guide that I may never sign up for a GuruWalk tour again. I hope some of the other tours are better that this one, but I'm not sure I'm willing to take a chance.

Antwort von Alexis:
I am very happy to receive your review, Mr. Nathan. Ninety-nine percent of all of them are great, but this one percent of negative reviews teaches me a great lesson: tolerate the intolerant. But that doesn't mean I should tolerate their opinions: opinions earn respect, with arguments and facts to justify and support them. Mr. Nathan, I bore the costs of your attendance at my tour, which you left in anger without saying goodbye after 45 minutes because I did not share your opinion on some of my statements, and you still had the courage to value my tour. You had a second chance to back up your claims with something other than your anger, but you merely gave your beliefs instead of your documentary sources. I think we can agree on one thing, Mr. Nathan: intellectual poverty has a universal remedy, reading. So I will answer your doubts by recommending my sources, so that you can verify them. Remember that also, before starting the tour, I sent you the bibliography and audiovisual sources that I studied for a year to prepare this tour, there are 31 references, I couldn't fit them all. But to start with, I think it is enough. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. On the control of energy resources: read 'Blood for Oil' by M. Antonucci; if you prefer cinema, I recommend Oliver Stone's documentary, 'The untold history of USA'. On Adenauer: you will be fascinated by T. Judt's 'Poswar', see especially chapters II and III. If you still have doubts, go to 'The shortest history of Germany', J. Hawes, pp. 195-198. Finally, Mr. Nathan, all walls, whether they forbid entry or exit, are based on the same principle of exclusion instead of seeking a dialogue solution to the conflict. Don't forget, Mr. Nathan, and this is very important, the same people who prevent dialogue are the same people who prevent thought. Last but not least, you can attack my arguments with any solid criterion as you have done; if you attack me personally, well you see, it is not ideal, I consider it a kindergarten tantrum, but I am used to this one percent. But it is intolerable, and I will be harsh on this point, that you extend this criticism to the entire team of guides and staff working at Guru Walk, threatening that you will not go on another tour with us: this argument is based on bad faith and implies a shameful moral poverty. As a guide, I understand that I can't please everyone and I accept criticism and respond to it, and luckily, Mr. Nathan, Guru Walk also has mechanisms to warn other guides of uncivil behavior of their assistants to prevent them from embarrassing situations like this. Thank you all for reading and for your understanding.
