Simon was a great walking guru, very clear about meeting point and route and with lots of helpful info. He had a great story worked into the tour relating to the history of the city and the buildings, and I just wished we had time to work in more stories like that. Maybe have to check out his other tour on the different route next time.
This was a cool walk through two distinct parts of the city. Tomas was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. The only downside for us was that during our walk there didn't seem to be a narrative throughline. My girlfriend was expecting more of a chronological story of how the city developed, and this was more just a sight-seeing walk.
Rafaela was a great guide, one of the better ones I've had around the world. This tour was a godsend in a city that doesn't have a lot of obvious "sights" like Christo Redentor or Sugarloaf Mountain. The timing, pacing, and flow of the information was all really good, and we appreciated seeing parts of the city we might not have gone to.
I really enjoyed this tour, and my girlfriend like it too but a bit less. The main thing is that this is primarily a graffiti tour, so you should know that and be keen to spend most of your time checking out the art and finding out about the artists. That was great for me, but she was hoping for more of a general history of the people and neighborhood and how that fit into Santiago as a whole (to be fair, Diego did adjust the tour slightly for us when he found out we didn't know that stuff already, and did add in more history, which was great). Diego is very knowledgeable and was good at connecting the dots with a lot of information on the tour, so I'd recommend this for anyone interested in street art and the architecture of Yunguy.
This walk with Carlos was one of the better ones I've taken, turning a city that I found a bit bland into a place with interesting, fun, living history. The end of our tour was impacted a bit by it being a holiday, both because some things were closed and because the whole central square was taken over by skateboarders! This turned out to be a unique experience though, and the 3 hours really flew by. Definitely recommended.
