Ich bin ein Führer, der Geschichte und Natur liebt. Aus diesem Grund bin ich ein ökologischer Führer. Ich stamme aus einer Familie mit Vorfahren aus Antigua Guatemala, daher kenne ich die Geheimnisse dieser wunderschönen Stadt und liebe es, Touristenführer zu sein.
I joined a free walking tour in Antigua with Victor. The tour itself was fine – he took us to some interesting spots and shared some useful information. Nothing exceptional, but a decent overview of the city. Unfortunately, the experience was completely overshadowed by how things ended. I only had a 200Q note on me and tried multiple nearby shops to get change so I could tip him 70Q, which I felt was fair. When I couldn’t get change, I asked if I could send it digitally instead. He responded by saying I should be giving him at least $15 USD, which is far more than the tour was worth. While I fully understand that “free” walking tours rely on tips, there should never be a minimum unless it’s clearly stated upfront. He then became quite aggressive, saying he pays $3 per tour to GuruWalk and that I “owed him” for his time. The tour lasted 2 hours, not two and a half as he claimed. When I politely declined to pay $15, explaining that I’m a woman travelling through Central America on a budget, he told me to “keep your f***ing money,” said I should be ashamed, and walked away. I was left completely shocked. It’s a shame because the tour had potential, but his behaviour at the end was unacceptable and intimidating. I would not recommend this tour.
Victor was just wonderfull. Very friendly, goodhearted and enthousiastic. He knew so much and could tell everything in a passionate and interesting way. In the time of the tour, he made us feel like a friend! When we saw him again a few days later, he still recognized us: "Ola chicas" 🤩 Muchas gracias Victor!
