I feel very fortunate to have gone on this very informative tour of the fascinating Convent of Christ (UNESCO monument), formerly the Knights of Templar Castle … and that David was our guide. He has a degree in Art History and his deep knowledge of the architecture and history of this site provided a very memorable overview of this era of Portuguese history and its Manueline decorative style. I immediately told the front desk clerk about our experience and suggested he record the details so other guests can have this information to enhance their visit to this important castle.
