Hello, I'm Behzad from Iran, who never cancel the tours, even with just one guest! I am a formerly Ph.D. student in physics, but now, passionate about the history and vibes of Berlin. A city with an amazing history in each corner and a multicultural vibe. Why am I doing this? For more than a year, we have had a large group that goes out every week and visits a new neighborhood of the city, and we haven't visited a place twice! So I decided to share this experience and show Berlin, and all layers of it, to an even larger group of people, that are you! Guruwalkers!

Tour description

Attention: On Thursday nights, we go to a venue for international street food.

Kreuzberg is a district in the central part of Berlin, known for its progressive and multicultural atmosphere, and more importantly for the Street Arts and Murals.

There are a significant numbers of immigrants from all around the world, also many activists, artists, and young people that work and live in Kreuzberg, and because of them, it has a great nightlife with many bars, clubs, and many other things. (wait for more!)
Besides, it's home to many international restaurants and bars, serving food and drink of every corner of the world!
You can find many food from Middle Eastern and Asian to Italian and Mexican, as well as many Vegan options.

But it's not fair to describe Kreuzberg just like that because it's got a rich history too! From the beginning of the 19th century to today, you can find a trace of many global crisis in Kreuzberg!

In our tour, we will walk through this district and see those historical memories as well as the cool vibe of Kreuzberg.

In our walking tour, we will visit:

  • Urbanhafen
  • Kottbusser Tor

Interesting as it is, the centre of Berlin can be a bit sterile and doesn't really give much of an impression of how people live. For a taste of that, you need to visit Kreuzberg, which is full of life, colour and chaos. As well as explaining the history of the area, Behzad also shows plenty of street art and interesting architecture. Definitely recommended if you want to get a better feel for the city.

We had a really great time on this tour. It was very detailed and really changed how we perceived Berlin for the rest of our trip. We loved the little neighbourhood we walked through. It was a niche topic but fun to learn about.

This tour was a wonderful experience that helped me to understand lots about the Kreizberg district now as well as before WWII and while the Berlin Wall was standing.

Behzad was very pleasant, very knowledgeable and easy to understand. There is a lot of walking distance to cover on this tour - be prepaired, wear good walking shoes.
